Action
Longwood Gardens is a nonprofit organization located in the Brandywine Valley region in Pennsylvania. It has an annual operating budget of $50 million and welcomes more than 885,000 guests to its 1,050-acre display garden and four-acre Conservatory each year. Gallagher developed, planned and implemented a three-day retreat for Longwood’s Visiting Committee of industry experts as part of the organization’s planning and development process. The professors, who were hand-selected by a committee of international experts, spent three days onsite and studied issues such as sustainability, clean environments and the future trends of the industry. Gallagher conducted the retreats and helped compile a final report which was disseminated to trade media and industry stakeholders.
Gallagher conducted research with internal and external stakeholders to measure perceptions about various aspects of the organization and the industry to provide additional foundational knowledge to the process. The final report was developed and presented to the Longwood Board of Trustees.
Result
The final recommendations compiled by Gallagher Consulting were used to guide the creation of Longwood’s dynamic Master Plan and overall strategic direction.

Ann has a fantastic ability to connect with and inspire individuals. She facilitated a three-day retreat at Longwood Gardens that focused on stakeholder research. It was extremely well received, and the results will help grow and positively position our organization. I would highly recommend utilizing her talents.
