Action
The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) led the effort to create Healthy Water Ohio (HwO). HwO is a task force of a diverse stakeholders working together to develop a long-range plan that will sustainably meet current and future water needs while enhancing the economy and quality of life for all Ohioans. Gallagher provided facilitation and communications services for the task force. This included working closely with OFBF to build consensus, conduct stakeholder interviews, conduct effective committee meetings and to facilitate stakeholder input sessions all over Ohio. The group successfully published its recommendations in 2015. HwO is continuing its work to implement the recommendations outlined in its water resource plan for Ohio.
Result
HwO continues to advance its plan to protect Ohio’s water resources. The coalition is leveraging its work to pursue funding to enable implementation through a public/private effort to establish a Water Trust in Ohio.
